>>35865990It's actually fairly simple. You need to prepare your save file to capture whatever you're looking for, naturally, and have a means to transfer it to and from your game cartridges. A flash cart on an older DS works for the GBA games, there's at least one good homebrew DS "game" that'll import and export saves from GBA games. 3DS homebrew works for everything else.
Next, you'll need an emulator that supports lua scripts. I'm using VBARR for GBC and GBA games. There are a number of scripts you can find online for Pokemon games for various purposes. You just plop your character in whichever place you need to be for the desired Pokemon, copypaste the script into a text file and save as whatever.lua, then you run the lua in the emulator and it does the work for you. This way you can do it at 10x speed.
The script doesn't alter the game's code at all, so technically the Pokemon generated is still legit. But the automated nature of the whole process might not be acceptable for a thread like this, where anons are out there doing it by hand. Too "cheap", if you will.
FYI I wouldn't use an SR script for gen 3+, you can just as easily RNG abuse for those games instead.
