Yeah my best friend used to play with me, we had the opposing versions of the games (we even got in discussions to see which box art legendary was better) and we would trade pokemon, battle for fun and help each other in the main game.
Sadly he grew out as well, and i was left alone :(

It's different now. Some things are less fun but others are more fun, for me at least. The magic of the first few years of the series is gone for me. Sitting outside with my friends using the cables to battle and trade and pretending we saw real Pokemon at night and having an imagination at all.

Life was a mistake.

The player to player interaction is the worst part. What are you going to do? Autism argue about which pokemon is better? Trade the dozen mon that are different between versions? The other option is to PVP. And that's how you LOSE friends. Faggot.

Used to play tons of Pokemon with my sister. She moved away years ago and we have not spoken since. Never actually played Pokemon with anyone but her. All of my friends have made fun of me past and present for playing. RIP.

I've only had two friends in my 3 decades of life and while I liked them okay I mostly just used both of them to play more games I wouldn't otherwise have access to since my family was poor as dirt growing up.

I honestly don't even remember how we got to be friends to begin with. I certainly never bothered seeking them out. I've always just done my own autistic thing.

It isn't boring to me, but sharing the hype and story progress with friends sure adds a huge extra fun on the mix.
That's mostly the reason why I enjoyed Gen 6 with all it's flaws.
