What the fuck were they thinking when they were writing this movie? You could tell Ash was completely off from the start, but it's pretty clear when they remake the goodbye Butterfree scene. I don't even mean to nostalgiafag, but why the hell did they portray Ash in such a childish and ridiculously cartoony and over-the-top manner? In the original, he was obviously shaken, but the scene still portrayed him with dignity and maturity. In the remake, he refuses to acknowledge Butterfree has to go at first until Butterfree guilt trips him into accepting it, and then he bawls his eyes out childishly.
