I'm also not a fan of the spritework either, mostly in-battle. They look very pixelated and grainy, and I'm aware it's because they're no fully animated now, but it's still jarring nonetheless. Some of the overworld sprites also look unappealing, but that's probably due to the poor use of the first person camera angles.
Another problem I have with the game, which was thankfully fixed in B2W2 was the map layout. It's really linear, and while it does get it's job done for the story, it just falls flat otherwise. Everything feels unnatural and just hastily pasted together. Maybe those are just nitpicks, but they still affect my experience with the games.
