My first shiny was geodude in pokemon red. Obviously I noticed it was shiny only once stadium 2 came out and I traded it over. Butterfree was the first one that I knew was shiny when I gaught it in gold, though I did see suicune just before this that fled. Had the same happen with raikou when playing the file. I even managed to get pokerus on this particular gold cart so my luck was pretty good back then. I wonder if the save still works.
