Starmie being bullied is extra galling because starfish are remorseless murder machines in real life, too bad that fact got recycled into Toxapex while poor Starmie is ignored. Still, giving a completely eyeless, faceless creature this much personality is a pretty big success.

It even produces energy-rich reproductive structures as decoys so that the fish will eat these and not its more vulnerable parts.
There's also starfish that keep "attack dogs" in the form of scale worms, these feed on the starfish's leftovers and in turn strike against whatever tries to attack their partner. You can actually see something like this working between Starmie and something like Wimpod in Pokemon.
