Why do people hate this new style so much? I get Ash looks goofy and the expressions can be over exaggerated but it isn't as bad as /vp/ makes it out to be. The animation looks super fluid and smooth.

Indeed the problem is just with ash (or kantonian old characters in general), because the other character are good. Only Kantonian one are stupid and goofy.
