Looking at the Pokémon encounters, Game Freak have no idea how to streamline this like Go.
There's like three different results screens after every capture, for catching, XP gains, and what you just caught, plus a message stating you put the Pokémon in the box.
Choosing to run from a Pokémon has additional confirmation and message, where it'd just be instantaneous in Go.
There's a dialogue message when a Pokémon breaks out on X number of shakes like the main games, whereas Go just has a basic message and lets you get straight back to throwing.
Given the repetition of wild encounters they've made each last way, way too long.
Also the overworld looks like ass, with your partner/player 2 warping in from the ceiling constantly, NPCs facing arbitrary directions then turning back after talking, Game Freak really needs to improve their standards because this is not going to cut it for the Switch.
