Think about it, them making LGPE is great because it soaks up all the shite features like perma-exp.share, more hand holding, etc. Meaning the games next year can be fully catered to vets without this crap.

Nintendo has realised it has to get new fans on board if it wants to keep pokemon afloat so its been steadily adding more and more babby features to the main games to make sure new comers can get involved. By seperating the 2 markets like this with 2 games it means both can be fully tailored to each group. They can go all out with one game to entice new comers and then provide a proper game to the oldies without having to worry about enticing newbies.
