It's the same shit as random encounters but instead of wasting time going through every one you just pick the single rare that you're looking for. True that it is basically a worse DexNav, haven't played ORAS in a while so forgot that existed.

Following/riding Pokemon and seeing Pokemon on the overworld are God-tier features, that much can't be denied. If they were tied to a real Pokemon game I could get on board with them. Hell, if this game was literally just FireRed/LeafGreen with 3D graphics, following Pokemon and GO style wild catching, it'd definitely hold me over until Gen 8

But Game Freak just couldn't help themselves and had to go the extra mile in making this game as unappealing as possible.

You can't be serious mate. Overall ORAS is mediocre as fuck and I can't think of a single place where it is seen as the best pokémon game, definitely not on /vp/.
