Since Anon is a brainlet let me explain. I think he means something with a 3D open world that isn't tile-based and is on a much larger scale than the comparatively cramped routes and towns that includes a non-linear means of completing the ga,e.

The terms "disgust" and "casualization" are the closest words that come to mind. Perhaps it's fitting that the game is on Nintendo's newest handheld console, because the hand holding has been cranked up to 20. I genuinely didn't think they could make it worse than it has been getting over the years, but if there's one thing that Gamefreak consistently does well, it's disappoint. This isn't even a game marketed at kids, this is a game marketed at the nostalgiafag smartphone players who saw one episode of the anime years ago and played Go for a week when it was the hip thing to do.
