Even compared to the original Pokémon Yellow version Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! look barely like an upgrade. It's basically the same game in 3D without bugs and some minor additions.

It's a downgrade from Yellow. Yellow had wild pokemon battles, higher level trainers and let you battle gyms with whatever team you wanted.

ORAS was a better remake than this, and no, we did not love it. Gen 6 was probably the peak of gamefreak hate on this board and for good fucking reason. If Gen 7 didn't reverse course on at least some of the design decisions that they were making on 6 I would have quit the franchise.

Still too much handholding and too many free heals, but at least there's some challenge and there's not a person walking around handing you a free extremely strong ingame pokemon every other town.
