Even so, those zero-depth mobile games are free to play on a device they already have. This shit has a $360-$410 entry fee for them. I guess I shouldn't say I'm surprised, I'm more disgusted.

I've played both Yellow, Silver, and Firered in the past year alone. I've been through Kanto countless times. I'll be going through it again in soulsilver when I get around to replaying that. I know the whole region by heart. I don't want to do it again. I'm burnt out on Kanto. Maybe I'd feel differently if I hadn't decided to go back through the whole series this year, but I just don't want to.

LGPE is currently the only way to get the mainline experience while dumbing it down as much as humanly possible so that even a lobotomized child can play it, and I don't see anyone on the app store making a shitty Kanto Clone with ONLY the original 151 and extremely simple mechanics so they don't get "overwhelmed".
