Never forget

Brock ruined the only chance every startermon owned by a protag in the anime was fully evolved cause he didn’t evolve his Marshtomp.

That’s not Ash’s Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Quilava, Bayleef, and Totodile all were starters that never evolved before Brock’s Marshtomp.

Generally, any pokemon that isn't fast doesn't get treated well by the anime because "fast action packed fight scenes whoa." Only cases like Goodra where there's only one pseudo legendary are the exception. It's sad, really.
