but you're forgetting the part where the plants absorb those raindrops and grow thanks to them, thus you're not hurting them, but making them healthier

Make Ice resist Water definitely. Maybe Grass too. But that’s not really necessary. The Water though... that’s essential.

I wouldn’t want to increase its offensive capabilities.... like say, making Fairy weak to Ice. Because making anything more weak to Ice is a boost to Water types, not Ice types.

Ice now resists Electric, Grass and Water. It is now also super-effective against Bug and gets a boost to it's Defense stat whilst in hail comparable to that of the SpeDef boost that Sandstorm gives Rock.

Instant viability. Aurora Veil is a good enough compromise, tho

I think without hard immunity dragon moves won't become superior again if Ice-types take their role with often much higher defenses (see Avalugg) and Hail boost.

What bugs me is that Ice would be SE on Fairies, Water types will win again.

To nerf fairies you can take their immunity or make them resisted by other types, like Psychic which is pretty weak now.

Done. 4 resists, 4 weaknesses. Other types do not get fucked too much (Ground and Fairy are already good, Electric doesn't lose much).

I won't discuss logic behind these changes because it usually leads to autistic screeching between anons. A lot of the times it's subjective and can be justified one way or another.
