Now listen here; for some ungodly reason everyone in here paints the first two rivals as being edgy assholes and every time someone mentions their idea for a fangame half the board chimes in with the same old song. It's time for this bullshit to end. Blue was never rude or anything like that to the player, in fact, his dialogue points to him supporting the player and helping them out by telling them what to do. Silver was more aggressive, but he was never that mean to the player either and only hated weak people and Pokémon. His entire character concept revolves around him being a rebel with his own sense of justice who ends up softening up and appreciating Pokémon as more than tools.
