>>359199031. Good use of publicly available tiles.
2. Great custom tiles. My favorite is how the devs emulated a lone ray of sunlight striking the Green Knight statue through a hole in the roof, while simultaneouly emulating floating dust particles in the light with oscillating white squares.
3. No need for HM slaves is always good.
4. Good music. Best tracks include the one when you battle Lin, the theme of Mesto Mountain's temple, and the abandoned factory theme.
5. The artwork is probably the best thing about this game. Both the characters and Relic designs. Their quality is high, and Lin is particular is cute/sexy enough to rival Game Freak's official semen demons. When I finished the demo, I hurried to /vp/ expecting to find lewds of the female Trinita University student and Lin, but the neckbeards were too busy arguing about gays and transgenders - like I give a shit. That's like arguing about the love lives of celebrities. Anyone who does these things clearly has too much time on their hands and should probably get a job.
6. The areas look amazing. I especially like Arietta Forest.
7. The devs actually expend effort to provide reasonable excuses as to why the player can't progress. I remember being impressed with the scripted Scyther event that destroys the bridge in Arietta Forest, which leads into the introduction of the Arietta Scouts who have a custom "saluting" animation and everything.
8. Including "meta" features like Nuzlocke mode, multiple save files, in-game speed-up, and a built-in soft reset was a nice touch.
8. The only "bad" things I can think of atm are the frame lag and some erroneous (and 1 game-breaking) movement permissions. And HOLY SHIT the lag is easily the worst part about this demo.
Many have already stated this, but fangames have been BTFO the official games for quite some time now. Us older fans only stick around so we won't miss out on the porn from the waifus introduced every three years, at this point.
