I thought the Gardevoir line was at least Grass type.

I also thought the Machop line was Rock type before Gen 3.

I thought the Physical/Special split was always a thing and I started with gen 2. I thought the punch moves were physical and I thought Shadow Ball was special. Why the fuck did Shadow Ball have a chance to lower SpDef despite being Physical?

The problem with Ghost/Psychic.
I had the same problem, faced ghosts in Gens 1 and 2 (as you guys might remember, Misdreavus wasn’t really common back then) and in Gen 3 I just couldn’t understand why Psychic moves weren’t super effective against the Ghost girl in Elite Four.

Didn’t know chimecho was even a thing until gen 4 introduces chingling because I think only 1 or 2 trainers have it in RSE so I never saw it.

Thought skarmory was a gen 3 mon. Could never figure out how to get the train card thingy in the GSC postgame as a kid.

When sceptile was first introduced and I was maybe...5-6 ish me and the other kids at school thought he was a grass version of mewtwo because of their similar body structures and large tails.

There’s probably plenty more but I can’t think of any atm
