Smash has 65(currently) characters and they all have to have animations for:
>Character entrances>Idling >Slow walking>Regular walking>Running>Sleeping>Jumping and double/multi jumps>Crouching>Crawling>Grabbing ledges>Ledge attacks>Guarding>Dodging, Air Dodging, Spot Dodges>Shattered shield animations>Victories>Four A attacks on the ground and air>Four B attacks on the ground and air(few exceptions)>Aerial attacks>Item attacks(hammer, bat, super scope, etc)>Item throwing>Carrying large size items >Grabs and being grabbed>Snake's unique choke grab>Four throwing animations for each character>Final smashes>Characters with unique mechanics(ink, bayonetta crap, robin's duability, limit, etc)>Swimming and drowning>Making sure everything works with every character>A CRAP LOAD OF DIFFERENT FACIAL EXPRESSIONS. Especially in ultimate>Other stuff I'm likely forgettingHoly crap that work load must be hell for them, but their work doesn't go under appreciated.
