This is factually false. Heart Gold and Soul Silver come after Gold and Silver, yet they are much better since they are the same game with added stuff, updated graphics and mechanics, and Pokemon following you.

The plot of Platinum is not a direct continuation of DP like BW2 are to BW. If you try playing BW2 without playing BW, there is a fair amount of the plot that will not be easily understood.

all the good parts are from gold/silver. all the bad parts were changes or additions

Of course not, but Gen V insists pretty goddamn hard on having the story in there. If you don't care about story there are better options, and if you do you shouldn't be starting with BW2
