Volcarona is great, but Gen 5 was already great from the large variety of top tier Pokemon, it didn't need saving in the first place.

Iris saved Gen 5. When she was revealed to be Ash's companion, I was overjoyed. To this day I am happy we got 150 Episodes, 3 Movies and Two Specials (Clair & Pokemon Generations) of Iris being cutest and best girl.
