Well I would suggest using Pokémon that you haven’t used before. Or maybe using somewhat unconventional teams or move sets? Had a friend who made a Mr. Mime named Mr. HeeHee. He modeled his move set after a pedo/madman.

Definitely gonna do that (excepting Noivern in gen 6 and 7 cause he's my favorite)
It's a hassle cause my link cable's broken and it's annoying to get a new one so I'm locked with versions for Blue and Silver and Emerald

I always do this for fresh playthroughs reguardless, so it's gonna be tricky in Johto to scrape up another 12 mons I haven't used already. When I get trading capability, I'm gonna try and grab all three starters cause that sounds fun, but I'm fucked for Blue/Silver/Emerald

Do an Autismlocke. All the standard nuzlocke rules, but when you beat the E4, your Pokémon family is retired. So if your Blue champion team is Blastoise, Pidgeot, Rhydon, Vileplume, and Weezing, for example, you can’t use any mons from those families. No Bellossom, no Rhyperior, etc.

Trust me, it's not that limiting, you can still use dual type, jsut stick to a type each game and play like you were a gym leader.

I always try and use exclusives of that version, and maybe a fossil type as well. You could also do a theme team or monotype run.

Fossil type is a good idea. I've never really used em, so I can definitely fill some slots like that. Theme would be fun, maybe for gen 6 or 7 when I have more options

Yeah without the link cable most fossil Pokémon are kinda late game until gen 4 or 5.

Use only Pokémon of types you didn't use in your last run. For example, if you used Blastoise in Blue that means no water types in Fire Red.

Why do you play the originals and the remakes, but not Moon?

I think it would be interesting if you use different Pokémon each time. Keep a text file where you write the Pokémon you use (maybe you can write also the levels they were when you beat the E4). When the file is fulfilled, you can keep it for the memories.

I never done that in my first playthroughs, but now that I am replaying all them too, it feels better to name them.

UM is the third version, not the remake. Also Moon was bad IMO. It's like I'm playing Crystal and SS but not Silver or Gold.

Definitely planned on using unique pokes for each file! I nickname everything anyway, but I think saving a .txt with their names would be cute
