Considering most complaints about the models is how they just stand around in battle (or glide), or how the colours are washed out, it's a fair statement to make.

Nah, he's right. Although I dislike quite a few models as well, it's just the stuff excusable under Creatures having nearly a thousand models to make.
The textures and animations are inexcusable though.

That's not true, a lot of the new models look a lot fatter/inaccurate than in their art due to bad modeling

We have had four 3d games and they have yet to actually improve the posing and animations in any meaningful way. Half the flying mons still look like absolute shit. Its especially lame because there are a few cool animations in like m. heracross pin missile or m. sceptile leaf storm so we know they could do better.
