There's only so much to be hyped about. It's already been confirmed that Kanto is largely the same, if not copy pasted.
1)There's no new Pokemon, same starters, so nothing there to be excited about. I doubt they'll be reintroducing mega evolution, either.
2)Eevee can't evolve, so people can't be excited about unique Eeveelution models/animations and which one they're going to pick.
3)We've only gotten a vague statement that the story is slightly changed and that Mewtwo will have a larger role. There's no reason to expect anything phenomenal.
4)We have a new rival instead of Blue/Green/Gary but that means we don't get to see Blue/Green/Gary and at this point it's impossible for them to introduce him OR Red since the story is largely the same. So you don't even get that nostalgia hype. I could see this changing if they do find a way to introduce them, adult them probably but this is unlikely.
5)To be honest, the games don't look very good aesthetically. At first I was distracted by the bright colors but quickly realized it all had that sickeningly smooth coloring/shading technique that just feels bland.
The only thing, and I do mean the only thing, to be hyped about with this game is the hint towards a new Pokemon that we've never seen before. But seeing how it's a gift Pokemon I highly doubt we'll get any hints towards what it is in the actual game or reveals of said game, so there's no point in getting excited. Seeing Gamefreak's track record with selling recolors as hype new forms and Pokemon I wouldn't be surprised at all if this never before seen Pokemon is merely that. Not to mention gen 8 is a year away, so even if they reveal a new gen Pokemon that's all we're getting for a while. Eh.
I was someone that was hyped by the trailer at first but quickly realized there's no reason for me to care about this game. Not targeted towards me, obviously something I've played through enough times already.
