Electronic Scam Arts, Boobysoft, and Inactivision Brainfart wouldn't be pushing live services if they thought people wanted to play their games less like Masuda.
They're wrong in thinking people have the time to play dozens of games without end on a yearly basis which will lead to their downfall if they wish to push forward with this "games are a thing of the past" nonsense, but they're right on people wanting as much play time as possible in their favorite titles.
As a business you want a steady consumer base, not an ever changing one and you do that by adding content, not half-assing it and losing everyone, They're coasting on retardation right now, but they absolutely cannot depend on GO forever. No, they NEED to bring back all of the content. They have literally hundreds of hours of content they are perfectly capable of making and keeping updated rather than trying to start from scratch with all of the Pokémon and a gimmick and refuse to use more and more of it with every passing game now because they're chasing customers who are no more than ghosts for all the good they'll do long term for the series.
