I know I’m a slowpoke here but I just finished Ultra Sun. I know the lore has been kind of fucked since Gen 4 introduces God, but I’m lost here. So Necrozma is...what exactly? The ultra space equivalent of a god/a powerful legendary? What is “light” in the context used in game? Is it a generic word for “power” through the psychic type?

Speaking of ultra space, what the hell is it? Is it like the wormholes that connect the Pokémon multiverse? Is that why you can find Pokémon other than UBs in the wormholes? Also, it’s pretty much confirmed that UBs are just regular Pokémon from other dimensions that happen to be stronger relative to “our” Pokémon in contrast (game mechanics aside), right? Well WHY are they stronger

Ultra Necrozma is Jesus. Bathed in glowing light with outstretched arms like the Prism Pokemon is on a cross or welcoming his flock, it couldn't be more obvious.

Wormholes are based on various Bible verses, because Bible verses transport you to a plane of higher existence, and wormholes transport you to places with rare pokemon. Hope this helps!

Look at Xircuitree's world, for example. The environment is comes from is almost tailor-made for a Pokemon like that to thrive in, to the point where it seems to be a major part of the planet's ecosystem. It would be like if there were an alternate dimension made entirely of wood where termites thrived far more than other species, leading to them becoming stronger and stronger with every generation.

Necrozma is a spacefaring dragon that feeds on light. It was gravely injured by human intervention in Ultra Megalopolis and was forced to assume a reduced form to remain stable. There's legends surrounding it and the light it emits "affects" life, but there's nothing to suggest divine origin.

Tbh nothing makes much sense in the usum lore, and it isn't meant to be taken seriously. GF certainly didn't put much thought into it. afaik necrozma is just a very powerful pokemon that happened to go berserk and do nasty things, so you're forced to beat it. Ultra space is portals to other dimensions and shit

Necromza is the incarnation of another universe’s sun. It is similar to Palkia and Dialga, a higher tier god than Kyogre and Groudon. It fled to our universe and in doing so, shattered. These fragments would be the Z Crystals and shiny stones of Alola.

We call the universe it came from “ultra space” as all Pokemon that came from it gain a large energy boost from the traveling. As in “these Ultra Beasts must come from an Ultra Space.” The “hole” left by Necromza allowed Alola to develop the boost mechanics for its island trials, as that energy is derived from the ultra wormholes.

So let's see making a divinity tier:
1: Arceus (Godhead- and I am absolutely appalled at how I can catch them in a pokeball, my side's)

Giratina, Palkia, Dialga, Reshiram, Kyurem, Zekrom, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde. (I add Tao trio because they are the personification of Yin/Yang/Wuji -feminine/masculine/nothing etc energies which are a fundamental part of our world/and pokemon world) also Necrozma would be ranked here too as a sun of another world /life force giver/stealer.

3: [Fundamental pokeworld shapers]
Rayquaza, Groudon, Kyogre, Mew, Solgaleo, Lunela, Regigigas, Azelf, Mespirit, Uxie, Heatran.(Sun and moon duo are here because of how their wormhole douchebaggery shaped Alola and likely helped shape other places. Lake trio is here because they are manifestations of consciousness. Mew here for being origin of all non-directly Arceus made beings in pokemon earth world. Regigigas and Weather trio responsible for shaping world/continents. Heatran was created at time of Dialga/Palkia/Giratina it is said and is the embodiment of the planet's core.

4: [Artificial/Mutation monstrosities] Type:Full/Null, Mewtwo, Genesect, Deoxys, Diancie, Magearna (Arguably I should be adding Suicine/Raikou/Entei because they are resurrected into what they are now).

5: [Significant contributors to the pokemon world] Shaymin, Landorus, Thundurus, Tornadus, Cresselia, Darkrai, Ho-Oh, Lugia, Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, Keldeo, Celebi, Tapu Lele, Tapu Koko, Tapu Bulu, Tapu Fini, Meloetta, Suicune, Hoopa, Volcanion, Marshadow, Jirachi, Entei. Eh and Regice, Registeel, Regirock if only because of sealing away Regigigas.

6: [Whatever just rare and chilling pokemon] Raikou, Latios, Latias, Zeroara, Moltres, Articuno, Zapdos, Manaphy, Phione.

But that's too difficult for kids to understand so they just pretend it's physically far away.

The sun radiates light.
The moon reflects it.
A prism will bend light.
God is light, truth, love.
Necrozma represents the prism in which light is bent into lies. This is why it's so angry. It represents shame.
Its burst mode is the opposite, its true self, its Christ mode.
