Does anyone here remember back in the Gen 3 days, when the buildup to Gen 4 was incredibly long? The new generation Pokemon were leaked very slowly to the public, and often appeared in a lot of spin off games to build excitement to them (Like in Pokemon XD where you could use a Bonsly in a side mission). Munchlax, Mime Jr., Weavile, Lucario, and Bonsly were the most popular ones in promo-stuff.

These days the buildup is nearly nonexistent. A new generation is released in the same year it's first revealed. Anyways, anyone remember these days?
