And maybe GF will implement "mood" setters which will affect your Pokemon performance (?)
Gengar enters the field and now it's spooky, Pokemon can't Intimidate or lower attack. Something broken like that.

Hail + Misty Terrain are scary, for example.

While not OU, Psychic Terrain + Sand on Metagross helps him to not die on Shadow Sneak / Sucker Punch. Sand helps to annoy.

Before release I had a feeling they would be really weak offensively and just have good bulk instead

They were just experimental for the most part. For gens 1 and 2, people often settled on Pokémon with high base stats and diverse move pools. It was the same deal with gens 3 and 4, it just overlapped with which abilities people found to be the most useful.

Also, Gen 5 had a lot of variety in playable Pokemon. It is just that you needed some weather mon in your team as well.

You should play the metagame before complaining about the metagame. Sure is shit, but the Tapus are just Pokémon, just like Suicune and Raikou were good in gen 3, but we didn't call them the dog war because we weren't retarded

Game Freak should re-introduce combo moves. What was the whole point of introducing combo moves like the Pledges and Fusion Flare/Bolt, when they are basically exclusive moves? I wanna see something like if a Pokemon uses Rototiller and then Leech Seed is used after, Leech Seed gets a stronger succ.

What do you mean by Counter Switch Out?
Like an ability that activates when your opponent switches out? Two or three could be fine for soft-trapping, but filling the game with punishers for Switch Outs would probably only lead to a bland metagame. Especially if these abilities are found in Pokemon with few Hard Counters.

It wasn't perfect, but it was good. The only issue was that some shitmons lacked both synergy and power and thus could never hope to compete.

You do realize what weather teams are right? That is the thing about the Gen 5 meta, almost nothing in the meta was a non-weather abuser/setter.
In Gen 5, you were pretty much guarenteed to find a weather team when going into a match and they would have the same Pokemon with the same sets.
Landorus-T may have lots of usage in Gen 6 and 7, but it's due to the fact that Landorus-T (and Pokemon like Clefairy) are able to be on multiple teams. You weren't always fighting one of Balance, Stall, Offense, HO, ect. Your teams were a lot more varied with different combinations and strategies other than "Kill other teams weather setter and use yourown weather to abuse".
Anyone that has actually played Gen 5 knows this and it's evident that you're a unovabortion after the meta and haven't actually played the game.
