They're harder on Challenge Mode than BW2 Challenge Mode, it's a pretty fair increase but nothing too crazy (Skyla's a Triple Battle, Clay has a Sand team including Sand Rush Exca etc)
The Blaze/Volt hack for BW1 is a lot harder though, that one gets ridiculous and has to be one of the toughest things to complete a Nuzlocke of out of any Pokemon game including Romhacks

This is the first gym on challenge mode. Most of the game is on par with this, but it does of course get easier once you have a better team. IMO these hacks are more fun than the base games.
