Seriously when does this get good or when do I get to see some cool Unova mons? Do they even exist? It baffles me that people praise these games over gen 6.

Imo first non-starter likeable mons (fuck you OP Tepig a cutie) don't show up until pinwheel forest's bugs. Then the desert has some cool stuff too. Must say I vastly prefer BW2's mon selection & tbqh everything else

When you realize that bugs and ghosts are the best types. Also I agree on gen 5 having shitty starters, it was the first time I boxed mine.

Based bug/ghost-bro. Gen5 was the first time I ever took a mon through a game while purposely avoiding evolution. Pignite & Emboar are just so fucking abhorrent & eviolite actually made my little pigboi workable with a little support, right up to White Treehollow

I like BW. The story is entertaining and it's not that easy. The only issues I have with it is the mon variety and how linear the game is. Other than that, it's nice.

By the way, I skipped BW2 when it was out and whenever I try to play it, I stop at Burgh's gym. Started a new playthrough today. Does it get better from there?

Not that anon but first two gyms were fairly challenging on Pokemon terms. Elesa's gimmick team were basically Whitney-equivalents wherever you'd place that. After that though yeah it's just Ghetsis

Mate BW2 is already far better than BW before you even get to Burgh. From him & the 3 badges after you're basically retracing BW, but then after that you get to go to some more new areas that are pretty cool. Mon variety is so much better than BW & the map opens up a bunch in the postgame (albeit mostly locations from BW). Felt the story was better as well because it's not so preachy or forced down your throat. Also you didn't even reach the PWT which people rave about I've never entered it mind

I had the exact same problem, it's because of the shitty pacing. After beating Roxie you have to go through the forced Pokestar Studios tutorialm which is a complete mood killer, followed by just a Grunt Battle (or two) and then you instantly get access to Burgh. It definitely got much better after that for me.

It doesn't get much better, they're extremely mediocre games. BW and BW2 are modern Pokemon games, meaning extreme handholding, linearity, and shitloads of forced dialogue. Horrible gen.
