If you put up Pokémon content on YouTube or release a hack/fanmade game his lawyers will be the ones C&Ding you.
If you buy cards or use the peripherals or buy the side series games, you've him to thank that they exist.
But he does not have control over anything. Essentially, it's his job to funnel people to the OFFICIAL games and primarily the main series via other merchandise, not to make them.
I'm sure they get his input on things but if that mattered, it's quite possible no Pokémon game would be showing up on Switch. Even when he's admitting he was wrong about the Switch it feels like he's saying that grudgingly.
