>>35980249It's not new behavior by any means, but the internet has definitely made it faster and easier for this harassment to happen. It comes off as entitlement; "you're not deliberately pandering to 100% what I want to see, so I'm going to shit on you all over social media".
People usually brush this off by putting the blame back onto the creators with the usual trite "well if they made better content this wouldn't be a problem" thing. But you have to remember: so many of these people are beholden to the wishes of corporations and their shareholders, and financial greed will always prioritize over creative freedom. There's literally nothing they can do besides just try to make the best thing they can with what they're given. It's like a really good actor playing his heart out in a movie with a garbage script, editing and special effects.
Attacking game developers, actors, journalists, etc. won't stop bad content from being made, it just makes the fans look like stupid assholes who don't know better, and gives the corporations an excuse NOT to pander to their wants. I'm not saying "go suck corporate cock if you want good Pokemon games", but harassing people won't do any good either.
