>>35987315>the monsIt varies between really appreciating them, getting a laugh from one, to wanting to pull my hair out when I face Motherfucks and Hofucnos. What I like about this game is it feels like no mon can be left behind forever because they'll eventually be able to pull some weight and be good at something, even if something else arguably can do a better job. And although some Pokemon have some impossible encounter rates at 1% it makes finding them feel all the more rewarding. If I'm rare-hunting I usually just take a mon I want to train in the area and eventually I'll come across one, it's how I found Oreon. The only place the low encounters are shit is the Safari Zone. Took me forever to get a damn Dragun.
>the musicFantastic, honestly. I think my absolute favorite theme is the shopping one for the marts and the spectacularly creepy music for Zanyis Town Ruins. Honorable mentions to Parax Town on arrival and Animango City.
>ReferencesI enjoy them, I know for some people it's cringe but I consistently found myself snickering for certain references I got. For ones I didn't it was no big deal, just more flavor to the game.
Overall I had a fun time with this game. Would not recommend to people who are casual Pokemon gamers or easily offended because damn the game can kick your ass if you aren't prepared. I came out of the game feeling great though, the ending to the champion fight was heartwarming and wonderful. Clover has some serious charm in certain places that I really like, which puts it above some other hacks and fangames at the end of the day. It also helps that the main questline is finished compared to other fangames too.
