I think the Yanma line is underrated as a whole. I always thought Yanma is one of the more interesting Johto Pokémon.

Yanmega has one of the best abilities in the game in speed boost, it just has a lame typing and move pool.

Sure it has decent attacking moves, but it lacks nasty plot, which would make him a great Pokemon. Also if he got something better than air slash, say hurricane, then we'd be talking.

I prefer Air Slash honestly. With Speed Boost you can outspeed everything after a few turns, and Air Slash has a 5% chance to miss and a 30% chance to flinch vs a 30% chance to miss and 30% chance to confuse, which might not even waste your opponents turn.

Also ancient power is pretty bad all things considered, it's gimmicky in the sense that you'd only run it for the chance to get that sweet boost, but that's like running psybeam because it has a chance to confuse.

just making it Dragon/bug could be amazing for it

Something like Quiver dance, a more wild move pool (like adding dragon pulse/flamethrower/power gem) would make it so much better.

But then again, I just want one of my favorite mons to be buffed.
