I feel genuinely sad for the poor kids that are gonna start with Pokemon LGPE instead of any pre-gen6 game.

But maybe it doesn't matter as long as they enjoy it? Maybe i'm just getting old.

Tbh tbe games may be underwhelming and not aimed at long-time fans, but maybe Let's Go is like a second chance to shape the Pokémon games. They are like a vague sketch with many features removed, so they could do things different and better

If you’ve ever worked with kids, you’d know that they are fundamentally the same as they have always been. It’s the world around them that’s different. They want to do things that stimulate them, and they want to be able to have fun with it. Let’s Go has that potential the same way that any core game does. Ultimately, we’ll just have to see.

The games are becoming far too easy for me. I thought it was just that I had gotten older and knew what I was doing when I played Omega Ruby for the first time and it was way easier than when I played the original Ruby as a kid.
Honestly though, I don't care as long as the kids enjoy Pokemon and get as in to it as I was when I was as young as them. If they can feel the magic that Pokemon has to offer then why should I care? Games are just meant to have fun and escape the daily grind of reality after all.

Different is only better if you don't like what it is.

If youdidn't like it, why did you ever play it?

The problem isn't most people not liking it, it's liking what they're capable of putting in because they've already done it and been too stupid, incompetent, and/or lazy to keep it in.

I liked Pokémon up until USUM. XY and ORAS had bad decisions, but overall they were good games. SM were really good too. But USUM were way worse than usual. They have good additions (but some of them are obviously minimum effort), but just leaving all the problems of SM unchanged feels so wrong. It also felt so wrong to not include any new Alolan Formes. They introduced them this generation with SM and didn't bother to build on it. They could have at least make it Gen 7's thing and expand it in USUM like they expanded Megas in ORAS.

This, except I did find ORAS lacking enough to not consider it a good game. At least it still had the PSS, good online is what made gen 6 for me.
SM/USUM go beyond "not good" though, they are bottom of the barrel, I struggle to find even a single redeeming quality on them outside a couple of new Pokemon having good designs.
