Man, I remember getting completely destroyed by XD's Orre Colosseum with my Emerald/FireRed team. Everyone was in their 80s, and I thought they were pretty strong, but being brought down to 50 against actually good Pokemon was an eye opener.

I think I was using something like Milotic, Banette, Dodrio, Light Ball Pikachu, and a few others.

I'd go with this desu. You can brute force your way through most battles in Stadium 2 R2 but the last trainer on Poke Cup and Challenge Cup are just fucking ridiculous. Took me 7 attempts to get through Challenge Cup Ultra Ball

The one flaw with this battle is that he sends out his Pokemon in a completely random order, except the Tyranitar always being last, so sometimes he'll end up with Pokemon who don't synergize well. How difficult he is depends entirely on which two Pokemon end up on the field together at any given time. If Slaking and either Scizor or Machamp end up paired together, Slaking will usually kill them for you.

I'm playing through the game now. One thing I didn't notice is how the shadow gauge is based on a level curve. I found that out raising that fucking Hitmontop in Pyrite City.
