I still think the -ate nerf was unwarranted. Obviously pic related is a piece of shit with it, but things like Pinsir and Altaria really needed that extra 10% power. Glalie and Aurorus are still shit WITH it. Gardevoir and Sylveon are pretty much pointless next to Lele now.

They need to fix Parental Bond Seismic Toss, it's the only reason why Kangaskhan is still uber. Of course, they probably won't because it isn't VGC legal.

The real dumb decision here was giving Salamence a Mega. Who thought that was a good idea? Metagross I can at least kind of understand, since it's Steven's ace and they wanted to show that off, but at the same time they could have just given him Mega Aggron and called it a day. But why buff a Pseudo like that?

It really nerfed Mega Kang though. He's now top 30 in VGC instead of being number 1. But the main reason is the removal of powerup punch not the parental nerf.
And Mega Mence is less common in VGC now, but it's mostly because of the introduction of new fairy pokemons like the Tapus.
As for smogon, Gamefreak don't care about it since it's not the official format so they will never nerf them anymore.
