Honestly, I've never liked Serperior

Something about the color palette just fucking ruins it for me, but I've always liked the Johto starters

Feraligatr is, alongside Swampert, my favorite water starter. That being said, you're right. They are bland as fuck. Typhlosion and Meganium are the worst offenders. You could squeeze all three of them together to make a juice and it would taste like nothing.

At least they’re not over designed pieces of shit. They’re inferior to what proceeded them, and taken individually there’s plenty of later Gen starters that are better than them. But taken as a set, they’re very strong

God Emboar gets a lot of shit but if Blaziken and Infernape didn't exist it would be considered a much better design, but it's a chinese style fire/fighting pig so it's considered one of the worst fire starters

That's the point you mongoloid. Gen 2 has a recurring theme of purity, which is way all three starters are comparatively bland and the only trio that is consistently monotype.

I disagree. gen 2 has my all time favorite starters next to gen 1. after that the designs got more outlandish and ugly over time.

They really should've had secondary typings, but it's difficult to give Meganium and Feraligatr secondary typings that both fit and enable them to stand out. Making Feraligatr a Dark-type is wasted potential due to how common Water/Dark is and slapping Fairy-type on Meganium just feels like shrugging and saying "well, it has a pink flower so it's fairy".

At least you can dump Ground-type on Typhlosion easily enough...

Typhlosion and Feraligatr are part of the Starters with the most porn about them.
On Rule 34 they literally are in the same tier as Arcanine and Charizard and god knows how much these two are loved by furries and animal fuckers.
