There's no problem starting with the beginning, and preferring a specific aesthetic is entirely subjective, but in terms of actual gameplay, they tend to be the most lacking in terms of useful features that have been staples for years. But I do think that in terms of basic game design, they're more solid than Gen VII or LGPE.

Nobody hates people who started with the originals. I'd venture to guess that most of us started that way. People hate the ones who started with R/B, stopped, but still pop up decades later to talk about how the newer games they never played suck and only genwun matters.

It's like that fag who joins the military, gets kicked out in his first year for being a retard, but still follows all these veteran Facebook groups to talk about how things were better "in his day".

I agree with the other anons in the thread. If anyone actually hates the people who started with gen 1 and continued to play then they’re just young kids who weren’t even alive when the games came out and due to that don’t see the appeal of the games.

Wrong. I started with RBY, stopped after Emerald but got back in with BW. Gen 1 games are just garbage and not fun to play, they have no value.

I started in Gen 1 and even wanted Kanto again but that doesn't mean this is anything but trash.
