If they want truly challenging battles boss pokemon need unique stats and the like. Auras are shit because you can easily work around then, luck a crit, and Ultra Necrozma doesn't have anything especially dangerous to warrant being a boss.
Combined with the AI being really dumb/choosing the strongest move it's not really hard to deal with.
