I use 6 but if one dies in an important battle (gym leader, boss battle etc) then they're "dead" and I don't replace them

5 or 6, usually. Never really need more than one mon for HMs, and I never have any big problems with keeping up team levels.

6 always, but during my current OR run I can't find any mons I want to use. Marshtomp, Breloom, Torkoal and Lairon seems plenty ATM. Thinking about Spoink just for shits and giggles.

Do it, anon. I got a Spoink in my OR run and it kicks ass. Took down Flannery's Torkoal through Thick Fat and Magic Coat (Dexnav), helped against Altaria too. It's surprisingly good in-game for what's otherwise a shitmon.
