Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the effort put into the romhack, and I like the musical themes composed for the game (not all, but several pieces are very good)
But what drives me away in the game, is the whole idea of it, is about that "everything in the game is a meme / a joke, and that is the grace", but it turns out that when "everything is a joke", nothing is fun at all ... because everything is like that.
Take for example the fakemons, they are all memes, so ... I'm using memes, fighting against memes, and watching memes all the time ... basically it get boring fast, and at the end I stop playing because I don't like the fakemons, I'm not that kind of person who likes to use an ironic avatar on twitter or something like that because it's supposed to be super funny (it's not).
So I don't want to use any pokemon, because I like none of them, then again, why do I play this ? ...
Also so many memes, and Clover is a normal romhack at the end of the day, I mean .. there are gymns, and an elite 4 ... and basically didn't change the pokemon formula at all, so what makes this game different from any other pokemon game? Oh right, right, "memes", that's what sets it apart, ....
And I know that Pokemon Clover has many features, but I didn't find any of that particularly interesting ... in fact I don't even see how this game is supposed to be difficult, it's harder than any other pokemon game (that's not something hard to achieve, pokemon is easy), but ... I mean, you can still win all the battles by just healing yourself with items or going with a higher level than the opponent, and that is, the same pokemon as always.
