It's the last game in the series so I wouldn't say it's a good entry, but it's a standalone game and you don't need to have played to other games to understand the story. It also has a ton of post game content, but once you have a good party together, become decently high level and remember to use the items the game gives you, it loses most of it's challenge and becomes a bit repetitive.
Overall it's a good game, I definitly enjoyed it
