Gen 8 brings back the cross-generation evolutions, which gives us this:
Ledymen, the Six Star Pokemon
>Type: Bug/Flying
HP: 65 (+10)
Attack: 75 (+40)
Defense: 50
Sp. Atk: 55
Sp. Def: 130 (+20)
Speed: 115 (+30)
>Abilities: Swarm, Early Bird, (HA) Huge Power
Now learns: Leech Life, Close Combat, Fire Punch
>Evolves while knowing at least three Punch moves and holding the Hero Mask.
It's not the strongest Pokemon by any means, but it does pack a serious punch and it has the speed to make up for it.
> Extremely powerful U-Turns, especially when equipped with a life orb or choice band.
> Incredibly fast, and fast enough to outspeed opposing scarfers when equipped with a scarf itself.
> Access to Swords Dance means it can set up and sweep.
> Draining moves such as Leech Life and (to a lesser extent) Drain Punch give it some extra longevity.
However...
- Pitiful defenses, even with the massive SpD, and no recovery outside of draining moves. Easily forced out by almost any form of priority or the vast majority of scarfers/mons with higher than 115 Spe.
- One of the worst typings in the game. Takes 4x damage from Stealth Rock and has no meaningful resistances.
- Acrobatics requires it to not use an item. Otherwise it needs to rely on a weak Aerial Ace.
- Coverage options outside of Close Combat are low base power.
- Only form of priority is a non-stab Mach Punch.
