Like most type specialists, Guzma is only easy or hard depending on which Pokemon you use. If you use Dark-, Psychic-, or Grass-type Pokemon mostly, you are going to have a hard time. If you use Flying-, Rock-, or Fire-types, you won't have it as bad.

But Masquerain can be a bitch especially with its buffed stats and Intimidate.

That was a common place for people to get stuck on years ago (when game first came out) too, but overall the games are easier compared to modern gens having you face perfectly EV+IV trained pokemons with decent coverage moves.

I legit lost first time I battled him in Sun because I let his Ariados get off a Fell Stinger KO with out even thinking about it. Motherfucker ended up sweeping my shitty team because I was trying all new mons and they were all slow and not that strong.
