They'll probably still keep him separate from them for the majority of the episode though, like some bird Pokemon like Pikipeck swoops in for whatever reason and he has to try and make his way back to the school while avoiding a bunch of giant Pokemon or something.

I'd be surprised if he actually gets to spend some significant time with his classmates during this whole thing.
