>>36053104I'd think Silver would have Weavile and Magnezone on his team at this point, though. I think the reason he doesn't normally is because those aren't Gen 2 pokemon despite the fact these games came out at the same time as Gen 4. Plus, in HGSS, there's no place to evolve Magneton into Magnezone and Razor Claw can only be obtained at the Battle Frontier.
Even with these taken into consideration, Silver would, at the very least, have a tough time taking on Gladion because he barely has type variety in his pokemon's attacks. If his Alakazam can successfully plow through Gladion's Zoroark, Porygon-Z, and Lucario with Focus Blast and take out Crobat with Psychic, then he might have a chance, but that's it. And that's not even taking into account the difference in levels or Zoroark managing to get it's Z-Move off or if Sylvally would have Water Memory and not Grass Memory, since I think it differs based what starter you chose.
