I'm curious, did they mention in older interviews why the return larvitar to her mom subplot had a big presence in the johto anime?

I assume it was to replace the Celebi arc that got canned due to it being decided that Celebi would star in a movie instead.

The GS Ball was supposed to contain Celebi, but plans changed and it was decided that Celebi should be in a movie instead, so they dumped the GS Ball with Kurt so everyone would forget about it.

He always had brown eyes, but they were always drawn as black unless it was a close-up or an emotional scene.

B/W was just when his eyes started being brown all the time.
