>>36062909>They all interact with the player normally and don't just sperg out, unlike NBarry, Hugh, Cheren etc.
>N doing the opposite isn't specialDoing the opposite of what is normal is the very definition of special.
>But by the time he seizes power, the player has torn apart his ideals and he bluntly discards them, throws a tantrum, and decides he'll just seize power anyway and use it to sweep away any hindrances, especially the player. From the very beginning, N wanted to get the power to free Pokemon from humans. Losing battles with Pokemon he barely spent time with seemed trivial. When he finally obtains the real power (Reshiram/Zekrom), he challenges the player. Hell, he almost begs for your opposition.
"If you want to stop me, you must become a hero as well! That's right! When Zekrom/Reshiram's counterpart, Reshiram/Zekrom, recognizes you, we will finally be even, and then you can try to stop us!" - Dragonspiral Tower
"I, also, am curious to see how powerful you are. Now, catch ReshiramB/ZekromW and make it your ally!" - Pokemon League
This is the time when he puts his ideals on the line.
>Until that point, those doubts really just don't exist. Not really. They probably did exist in the back of his head, however the years of brainwashing gave him the determination to see his ideals through.
Additionally, antagonist doesn't need to explain everything he thinks to the protagonist immediately. That's silly and removes some of the tension from big reveals.
Bottom line, we interpret dialogues (well, monologues - it's an JRPG after all) differently and it shows. Where you see naive guy sperging, I see lonely guy talking to himself trying to find confirmation about his ideals.
