Executive meddling fucked SW, GF report only to themselves and despite what the board thinks honestly want to make the best games they can. If that means shitting out a 3DS-tier port to give them both time and experience working with the new tech to make a better Gen VIII game from the start, rather than getting a kinda-janky 1st version I'm all for it. The 'tards here screaming it'll influence Gen VIII obviously don't see they're trying to get another series to run alongside the core games, so they don't have to shit out the original series games so often and can give them more dev time. Staffing increases and the graduate's recruitment drive they posted for a while back for next year imply this even further.

No, of course not. I'm not naive to assume that everybody in these demographics will buy LGPE. But each of these populations is huge enough that LGPE, in aggregate, will sell more than Splatoon 2, especially if it is splintered off between 2 versions.
